Marshall Alston stands as a member of the board of directors at the Newark Boys Chorus School (NBCS).
Growing up, Marshall Alston enjoyed
being active in his local community. As a board member of the Newark Boys Chorus School, he is able to give back to the community and school that have given so much to him during his childhood.
Newark Boys Chorus School (NBCS) opened its doors in 1969 and has since maintained its same core values and principles for over forty five years. NBCS provides young men in grades 4-8 with a well rounded education that includes a rigorous academic program combined with intensive music performance training. The mission of NBCS is to provide students with a complete and balanced education that allows them to open their minds and hearts, seek excellence, and foster a lifelong love and appreciation for music and learning.
Marshall Alton was part of the graduating class of 1988 at Newark Boys Chorus School. He is grateful for his time spent at NBCS where he gained unforgettable friendships and valuable skills in teamwork, leadership, and discipline that have led him to find great success in his professional career and beyond. As a board member, he now looks to inspire kids to develop these same skills and principles while finding their true passions.
Over the years, the Newark Boys Chorus School has demonstrated great success and achievement. In 2015, NBCS was awarded the People’s Choice Award for Favorite Choral Group. Known as Newark’s “Musical Ambassadors”, students of NBCS have performed all across the globe at world-renowned venues such as:
- Lincoln Center
- Carnegie Hall
- Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts
- The White House
- Cathedrals throughout Europe
Marshall Alston is excited to be a part of such a great organization and is eager to help NBCS continue to grow and succeed in helping kids achieve their goals for years to come.
